The haunting presented is subtly unnerving, but seems more like it's hitting harder just because the guy is already going through a rough patch. If you're here for a serious story about a man's life falling apart, you might also be disappointed. This is an odd little book (only 111 pages) and if you're here for a ghost story, you might be disappointed. and then sentences show up that seem out of place. Scenes from his screenplay are mixed with him talking about his own life. The story is told as if you're reading the journal he's writing. His wife and four year old daughter accompany him and at first all goes well. You come for the ghosts, you stay because you're stuck in a metaphysics trap.Ī screenwriter rents a house in the mountains intending to write a sequel to his most successful movie. It could easily be one, or maybe it's something else entirely. This is the story of a man's emotional collapse.
